About the artist

Ada Godspower is a Nigerian artist whose layered practice moves between painting, collage and assemblage, bringing together acrylic, oil, fabric, paper and jute. Born in Benin City and trained in painting in France, his visual language brings African and international influences into conversation through stylized figures, pattern, texture and recurring cultural motifs.His compositions combine figurative imagery, pattern and material, allowing African visual motifs to encounter the textures, fashion and attitudes of contemporary life. That tension between inheritance and the present has become central to his visual language. Godspower's work has appeared in exhibitions and auctions in Nigeria and has circulated among collectors and galleries internationally, with reported exposure across parts of West Africa, Europe, the United States and Australia. His practice represents a contemporary generation less concerned with preserving inherited forms intact than with allowing them to evolve through new materials and new ways of seeing.
