The Procession

About the artist

Donald Onuoha is a Nigerian painter whose distinctive figurative language brings together West African aesthetic traditions and the fragmented geometries associated with Cubism. Working primarily in oil and acrylic, he constructs figures through intersecting planes, repeated forms and shifting perspectives, exploring beauty, identity and the relationships between individual and collective presence. Onuoha's work has appeared in exhibitions in Nigeria and internationally, including a World Bank exhibition in New York, and his paintings have entered private and institutional collections beyond Nigeria. His growing international visibility places him within a generation of Nigerian artists whose work moves comfortably between local visual traditions and a global contemporary-art vocabulary.
